And we look forward to the fun.
But with 24 days to go,
We'll have to wait for the show.
2nd December
The first day's thrills gone,
But in 23 days it's all done.
So keep waiting and enjoy,
Before you've opened up the last toy!
3rd December
Christmas spirits still lifting
As minds keep slowly drifting
To the special day coming - how pleasant!
Just 22 days 'til the lights and presents
4th December
Candles alighted, and fireplaces too -
As the cold promises to chill you right through.
With 21 days left until the special day
It's hard to keep the cheering spirit away.
5th December
Cards are exchanged, and so are pleased grins
These are the results that the festive cheer brings
In just 20 days time, it's all finally here!
Make sure you're prepared, and you'll have nothing to fear.
6th December
In just 19 more days we'll be larking about
The houses filled with the joyous shout
Of "It's Christmas! Really, it's actually today!"
We still have to wait, though, come what may.
7th December
The excitement still slowly growing -
As in 18 days, it'll all be showing!
The magic day will soon be here!
Just keep up the wonderful festive cheer.
8th December
Tinsel and trinkets, and sparkly things
Baubles and big brass bells that ring
All waiting faithfully these last 17 days
Before Christmas gifts will truly amaze!
9th December
All the cakes and sweets fly off shop shelves
Even though the clock is not yet at the twelve!
Children fervently rehearse Nativity plays
As it's Christmas in just 16 days!
10th December
In 15 more days it's Christmas night
After all the gifts and all the delight
Before you know it, it'll all be done
So enjoy it before you've sung the last song!
11th December
Turkeys and tinsel and wrapping and bows
Santas and reindeers, everyone knows
In merely 14 days there'll be oh! such joy
For every girl and every boy.
12th December
Wise men and angels, animals alike
Practicing for their go at the nativity mic;
Everyone will be ready, at every school
For in 13 more days, it's the time of the Yule!
13th December
All waiting so patiently, for lights and for snow
Because we've only got 12 more days to go!
Still, we must wait, and wait some more.
But you know you will enjoy what comes, for sure!
14th December
11 days left, it's getting so close!
But do you know what I will love the most?
It's the beaming faces, joy all around,
And that's what keeps my heart off the ground.
15th December
It's the final countdown, as it's nearly here!
Just 10 more days left, then we'll all cheer
"Hooray! It's Christmas! It can't be true!"
But oh! yes it is, so merry Christmas to you.
16th December
The fun is coming, it's very, very near!
But remain focused and calm, as we waited all year
Keep working hard, though you're in need of a rest
As in 9 days more, it's the day that's the best!
17th December
The time is nearly ripe, as we wait a little longer
And though it aches afresh, it makes the joy a little stronger
We'll be prepared, for in 8 day's time,
I'll finally have finished my rhyme!!
18th December
Only one more week to go - 7 days, that is!
And then it's the day we never miss.
It's oh so close now, with so little time left
And then a year longer to fill the festive cleft.
19th December
Even less time to go now!
And the Nativity has taken its bow.
Only 6 more days to go
And I'm still just wishing for snow...
20th December
The 20s have come around!
So clap you hands and stamp the ground;
For in only 5 days more,
There'll be wrapping paper scattering the floor!
21st December
Just 4 more days; and oh! what fun
As I try to think of a rhyming pun...
But remember to savor the day
For it'll be another year again before today.
22nd December
With so much still to do,
We're really now in the mood.
As in only days more 3,
It's the real-life Nativity!!
23rd December
My presents are wrapped up under the tree,
And the crackers are waiting for the bang and the scream,
The turkey knows with just 2 days to go,
It'll soon be in the oven aglow.
24th December - Christmas Eve!
The festivities will soon begin,
As in 1 day more, it's all here.
